NGC 6792

A small, faint, diffuse galaxy with possible central brightening, near a bright field star and distinctive stellar patterns.

Observation notes

NGC 6792 appeared as a small, faint, diffuse patch of light with a hint of increased brightness towards the centre. No distinct internal detail could be discerned. The galaxy lay relatively close to a bright field star, which served as a useful landmark. A close star pair was also visible in the same field. On the opposite side of the galaxy, three stars lay almost in a straight line, forming a distinctive and easily recognised pattern.
