M92

M92 was smaller than M13 but still clear, resolving into individual stars all the way to the core.

Observation notes

M92 appeared considerably smaller than its more famous neighbour M13, but it was still a fine and clearly visible globular cluster. The cluster resolved into individual stars all the way to the core. The surrounding star field framed the cluster in a very pleasing way.

Visible above the southern horizon around midnight in June.M92 is marked in Hercules. The chart shows the object's astronomical position and nearby constellation lines in the J2000 coordinate system.
