M71 appeared as a faint globular cluster with a relatively open structure in a very rich Milky Way star field.
Observation notes
M71 appeared as a faint star cluster with a structure that was relatively open for a globular cluster. Its appearance was more reminiscent of a dense open cluster. The cluster lies in the Milky Way band and is therefore surrounded by a very rich star field, producing a beautiful overall impression.
