M27 Dumbbell Nebula
A nearly full Moon produced low contrast; the O III filter improved the view slightly, but the nebula's form did not stand out clearly.
Observation notes
I observed M27 even though the nearly full Moon was nearby. As expected, the moonlight reduced contrast, and the nebula appeared mainly as a large, diffuse glow. The O III filter improved the contrast somewhat, but the Dumbbell Nebula's characteristic shape and structure never fully emerged.
